Deploy and access an instance

Choose an available plan, region, operating-system image, billing period, and any other options shown during checkout. After ordering:
  1. follow the provisioning status instead of creating a duplicate order;
  2. store the initial credentials securely;
  3. rotate the root password if it may have been exposed;
  4. update the operating system before deploying applications; and
  5. use temporary terminal access only on a trusted device.

Power controls

The LXC management application can provide start, stop, restart, freeze, metrics, traffic information, snapshots, password rotation, reinstall, and other controls supported by the service.
  • Stop and restart can interrupt running applications.
  • Freeze pauses the container and its processes; it is not a backup.
  • Reinstall replaces the operating system and instance data.

Snapshots and backups

Snapshots are recovery points, not a replacement for independent backups. Create a snapshot before risky changes. Restoring a snapshot replaces the current instance state with the selected snapshot.

Domains and HTTPS

Where available, the LXC application can help connect a domain, configure a web proxy, and request a Let’s Encrypt certificate. Make sure the domain points to the correct instance and that the application is listening on the intended port before enabling HTTPS.

Upgrades, billing, and cancellation

Review the displayed quote before confirming an upgrade or billing-period change. Upgrades can be prorated. Cancellation is normally scheduled for the end of the current service period. Use the available resume or revoke-cancellation control before the displayed cutoff if you want to keep the service.

Downgrades

Any reduction of compute resources, storage, billing configuration, or another included feature requires KmerHosting Support. Include the request subject and the email address of the affected KmerHosting account. Support reviews the requested reduction to avoid incompatible limits, service inconsistencies, or data loss.

Developer access

Supported LXC operations are available through the REST API, SDK, CLI, MCP, and API Reference.
