# KVM VPS

> Manage existing KVM VPS services and supported developer operations.

KVM VPS remains documented for customers who already have a service. New-order availability is shown in the [live catalog](https://kmerhosting.com/pricing).

## Manage an instance

Available controls can include:

* start, shutdown, restart, and force stop;
* root-password reset;
* manual renewal and auto-renew;
* scheduled cancellation and service recovery; and
* snapshot creation, editing, deletion, and rollback.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Force stop can interrupt writes. Snapshot rollback replaces the current disk state, and snapshot deletion removes a recovery point. Confirm the instance and backup state before continuing.

## Downgrades

Any reduction of compute resources, storage, billing configuration, or another included feature requires KmerHosting Support.

Include the request subject and the email address of the affected KmerHosting account. Support reviews the requested reduction to avoid incompatible limits, service inconsistencies, or data loss.

## Developer access

Supported KVM operations are available through the [REST API](https://kmerhosting.com/docs/developer/rest-api.md), [SDK](https://kmerhosting.com/docs/developer/sdk.md), [CLI](https://kmerhosting.com/docs/developer/cli.md), [MCP](https://kmerhosting.com/docs/developer/mcp.md), and [API Reference](https://kmerhosting.com/docs/api-reference).
