# Free Hosting

> Claim one free Shared Hosting service and understand its limits and inactivity lifecycle.

Free Hosting is a **\$0/month** Shared Hosting offer. Claim an available option from [Customer Dash → Shared Hosting](https://dash.kmerhosting.com/shared-hosting/). No credit card or payment is required.

## Included resources

Each KmerHosting account may claim **one** Free Hosting service.

The live Dash shows current capacity and the final limits.

Free Hosting does not include the first-year domain-registration benefit available on eligible paid annual Shared Hosting plans.

## Keep the service active

Qualifying activity is a successful cPanel or DirectAdmin session created through KmerHosting for the Free Hosting service.

This includes opening the control panel or File Manager from the Dash, or creating the same supported temporary access through the KmerHosting API or MCP server.

The following do **not** reset the inactivity clock:

* signing in to the KmerHosting Dash;
* only viewing the Shared Hosting page;
* viewing statistics or billing information; and
* normal traffic to the hosted website.

A direct control-panel login outside KmerHosting may not be recorded. To make sure activity is counted, open the panel through KmerHosting at least once every 20 days.

## Inactivity lifecycle

| Inactivity | State / action |

| 19 days | Final pre-suspension warning |
| 20 days | **Suspended** |
| 23 days | Deletion warning |
| 27 days | Deletion warning |
| 29 days | Final deletion warning |
| 30 days | **Terminated** and hosted data deleted |

The lifecycle is:

**Active → Suspended after 20 days of inactivity → recoverable before day 30 → Terminated at day 30**

## Recover before day 30

If the service was suspended specifically for inactivity, open cPanel, DirectAdmin, or File Manager through KmerHosting before the deletion deadline.

KmerHosting can reactivate the hosting account, create the requested session, and reset the inactivity clock.

Other suspension reasons are not automatically recoverable through this flow. Contact Support if recovery fails.

## Termination

At 30 days of inactivity, the hosting service is terminated and its hosted files, databases, email data, and control-panel account are deleted.

Keep independent backups of anything important.

## One claim per account

The Free Hosting entitlement is a one-time claim for the KmerHosting account.

Termination for inactivity does not restore the entitlement. The same account can still order paid hosting.

## Move to paid hosting

An active Free Hosting service can move toward eligible paid plans from the Shared Hosting workspace. Use the [Shared Hosting guide](/docs/products/shared-hosting) for plan management and support-assisted changes.
