# Affiliate program

> Share your KmerHosting referral link, track referrals, and follow commission earnings from the Customer Dashboard.

The KmerHosting Affiliate Program gives each eligible customer a personal referral code and link from **Dashboard → Billing → Affiliate program**.

## How referrals work

Your link uses this format:

When a new customer registers through that link, KmerHosting records the first valid affiliate attribution. Self-referrals are rejected, and an account that is already attributed is not reassigned to another affiliate.

Referral attribution is preserved through both email/password registration and supported OAuth registration flows.

## Commission

The current default commission is **10%** of eligible paid service receipts.

Commissions are not created for account-credit top-ups because a top-up is money movement rather than service revenue. Refunded, reversed, or otherwise ineligible transactions do not qualify.

Each commission starts as **Pending** and has a **30-day validation period**. Once that period has elapsed, an eligible pending commission becomes **Approved**. A separate audited settlement flow is required before an approved commission is marked **Paid**; approval does not silently add money to account credit.

## Dashboard

The Affiliate program view shows:

* your referral code and copyable referral link;
* total attributed referrals;
* total commissions earned;
* pending, approved, and paid amounts;
* commission date, product, eligible sale amount, commission amount, and status.

All monetary values are tracked in USD using the same high-precision ledger conventions as the central KmerHosting billing system.

## Monthly email summary

On the **first day of each month**, KmerHosting sends active affiliates an email summary for the previous calendar month. The message includes:

* new referrals;
* commissions earned;
* approved amount;
* pending amount;
* the affiliate's referral link.

The monthly email is a summary. The Customer Dashboard remains the account-level source for current affiliate activity and status.

## Status lifecycle

| Status   | Meaning                                                                                     |
| -------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Pending  | Commission was recorded and is inside the validation period.                                |
| Approved | Validation period completed and the commission remains eligible.                            |
| Paid     | The approved commission has been settled through an audited payout flow.                    |
| Reversed | The commission no longer qualifies, for example after a qualifying transaction is reversed. |
